of Procrastination & sorts...
The great Wikipedia...my first and last resort for all kinds of knowledge about topics ranging from simple yawning to rocket science defines Procrastination as... Procrastination is a type of behavior which is characterized by deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite procrastination as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision. Psychology researchers also have three criteria they use to categorize procrastination. They believe that procrastination must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying. and continues to say the following as if it just wants to scare the holy shit outta me.... For an individual, procrastination may result in stress, a sense of guilt, the loss of personal productivity, the creation of crisis and the disapproval of others for not fulfilling one's responsibilities or commitments. These combined feelings can promote further procrastination. While it is normal for people to procrastinate to some degree, it becomes a problem when it impedes normal functioning. Chronic procrastination may be a sign of an underlying psychological or physiological disorder. Now i can hear all of u thinking alike, aloud... What have u procrastinated? well the answer is pretty much simple...Everything.... from the measly chore of taking out the trash to the barely sweat inducing writing of a blog... I have always done this procrastination thing.... hell! when i think about it, i have been doin this for a while now...exactly for 21 years 7 months and 3 days.... well all that was said just in order to make a point clear tht this blog though it may seem to b posted on 23rd...it’s actually intended for 22nd...u see the time system tht our ancestors have conjured up dosnt really strike a chord with me... how come u call the day as the next day without u ever going to sleep and gettin up with the sun stops shining so bright on ur face and shifts its concentration below the belt??...n the best time tht my creative 'juices' flow is after 12 ie., midnight.... though u may not seem to notice any creativity in my blog... i assure u tht its with great amount of effort and pain tht im writin this piece of whatever-u-want-to-call-it thing.... No reviews, no opinions of others copy pasted to make them seem as mine, no nothing of any sorts is there for me to write about today..and mind u, as far as the word 'today' is concerned it means 22nd Dec 2008 for me.... well actually thinking about today, I realize tht today i was busy doing nothin bcos i was busy making up resolutions... well i guess I must be only character out there who makes up resolutions so early...even before Xmas tht is...but let me make it clear beforehand with great pride tht i actually took a step forward towards the fulfillment of my resolution, blowing 1.5k of dad's money along the way... :D (hey! he makes it n i jus spent it..every time comin up with an innovative way to do it.., n believe me the latter part is real hard to b put into action)... and here goes all my resolutions... 1) to get my Zippo lighter fixed... cos i hav come down on the daily average of cancer-sticks consumed due to the lack of proper oomph! inducing lighting system... it had stopped working sumtime back and i noticed its flint not being ale to produce sparks properly...n i fixed tht promptly after abt 2 weeks of procrastination... but after tht only the spark remained with no flame.. so had to replace the wick which i undoubtedly again procrastinated... n today i was able to force myself to take it to a shop n get it fixed... n believe me it does giv a sense of pleasure to smoke a cigarette (hwever cheap the tobacco tube may b) lighted with an orginal Zippo lighter..tht too long after ur lighter got dysfunctional... Oh! i hav attained nothing short of smokin Nirvana today..at the expense of 100rs off my dad's pocket again... 2) to buy 3 tutorial DVDs tht promised to make an expert in 3 creative softwares...(Adobe Premier Pro CS3, Autodesk 3ds Max & Maya) it cost me (actually my dad) around 1.3k...but i was happy.. n y shouldnt i be? they promised to make me a 3d animator guru... n i want to b one..not cos for my love of animation..but my pretty much hatred for everything else....i even went for animation classes for about 5 months until 2 bike accidents so rudely interrupted n made me drop those classes...but i actually finished till Adobe Photoshop (i jus kno the the position of tools inside them that is)... n actually im kinda into films these days..and to make matters worse (for others perhaps) i have this urge to become a director, a cinematographer and an editor all bundled into one... much like a walkin talkin movie factory in myself... so editing is an area i havent hav the faintest clue about... so i hav decided to study myself wht this thing is all about... n got to hear tht softies like remier pro is the new industry standard... so couldnt get past the chance of gettin a tutorial fer it either... Now if u were reading my blog till now (which i seriously doubt cos jesus once said 'thou shall reap what thou shalt sow'..n i hav never ever read anybodys blog.... not even the compulsive confessor even when she was on a full blown sex streak...) u wud realize an anomaly in my math... yea 1.3k +100 only gives ya 1.4k... where did the rest 100 go?... well my dear friends, before u jump onto all sorts of conclusions.. i spent 10 out of it for a book that promises to make u the next greatest man in nothing short of world history, whom the world of tomorrow will take up as an example...its based on NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)..which is sum new kind of brain developement programme..heard this was one of our former president Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalaams areas of interest....few pages into the book and i already feel tht a great man has been born..not me (ofcourse), but the one who actually came up with the idea of writing, publishing & selling this book....(come on, i was jus being pointlessly sarcastic.. n will definitely include a purely personal opinion about tht book in future posts...) but one doubt still remains.. if ALL of us (each n every soul) reads these kinda books & gift ourselves the raw power of our unlocked brain then wont all become genius & great?... But thus in effect none wil become great & genius ryt? cos everyone will b the same... is tht the exact reason y these kind of they-say-it's-a-sure-fire-method is not being introduced in the curriculum of the upcomin generation as everyone turning out to b great will render none of us weak n 'fit' enuf to b ruled upon?...This reminds me of the villain character of 2004's run away animation hit 'The Incredibles', Syndrome who say to its hero Mr.Incredible..."I will sell my inventions to everyone... making everyone a superhero...and thus ineffect no one will be...." btw the rest 90 rs i liberally spent on my cigarette packets out of which 3 cigarrettes stil remain... speaking of which, i'm gettin an urge to have a smoke... so cya folks or those of who come out of curiosity... till then... do whatever u want to... ;)...chao!
